The first idea

Retrospective 01/12 · The beginnings · February 2024. My devlog dates the beginning to 8 February 2024. At that time, I initially imagined a VR game with spatial puzzles.

  • I wanted to bring my experience in 3D and architecture into a game world of my own. Players would be able to explore and change spaces.
  • Monument Valley was an early reference point. Impossible geometry and the question of how spatial illusions feel during play were other influences.
  • Graphics, sound and a distinctive game mechanic were already part of the earliest ideas.
  • Perspective and platform were still undecided at the beginning. The original VR idea later evolved into a third-person game.
  • Gravity became the central tool: a wall can serve as a floor and reveal new routes.
  • The next step was to turn the many possibilities into a concrete concept. The first notes are a starting point, not a description of the features available today.
